When enrolling a child for the first time parents/caregivers need to show a birth certificate or passport as proof of date of birth. At enrolment the parent is given a medical card to fill in, and on this details of illnesses, health problems, inoculations etc. should be recorded. This card is an important part of your child's school records.
Enrolment can be made at any time, but we only start new students on a Monday. This helps us to settle new children and plan their placement. Students must be in school uniform to start.
Further information on enrolments and most of the below information can be found in the Information Pack and other downloads from INFORMATION » DOWNLOADS

The School cannot take any responsibility for children who arrive at school before 8.30am. Any children arriving before 8.30am must assemble and wait quietly in the court area until the 8.30 bell.
It is the responsibility of parents to advise the school at the earliest time of an absence concerning their child or children.
By regulation children are required to attend school unless prevented by illness or emergency.
If a child fails to arrive and the school has no knowledge of whereabouts the office will then ring home as a safeguard.
If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason please contact the school on 09 298 8365 or text 021 057 2491 as soon as you can during school hours to let us know. To reconfirm this, for your childs safety, a signed note should be sent to school with your child when they return.
Sometimes it may be necessary for you to remove your child from school during school hours. You must enter your details and sign the register at the school office before going onto the school ground.
Cosgrove Primary School has had installed Speed Zone Signs on Clevedon and Cosgrave Roads. When these signs are operating, they will flash brightly, to alert you to a reduced speed limit around the school of 40km per hour. This limit is in force when the signs are on, during school days between 8.25am to 9.00am in the morning, and again at the end of the day 2.55pm to 3.15pm. There will be occasions, such as finishing early, when we will be able to operate the signs manually.
Please help us keep our staff and children safe by observing speed limits around our school.
Remember, if you are caught speeding, you will be ticketed.
The road directly in front of Cosgrove Primary School is a no parking zone. The road has been marked with dotted yellow lines. This marked zone extends from the front of the school on Cosgrave Road towards and onto Clevedon Road where there is a second school pedestrian crossing.
Please do not park your vehicle in the marked no parking zone. Obstructions in this area are a very real hazard for our staff and children.
And finally, the main carpark off Cosgrave Road is for staff parking and delivery vehicles only, please do not walk in or out of the school carpark with your child or use it as a pick up or drop off point. Instead parents can use Yang Place to drop off or pick up their children but please remember to respect the neighbouring homes and not park over driveways etc.
If your child requires medication and / or monitoring at school please advise the school as soon as possible so an action plan can be created for you child. This action plan typically includes any medicines that may need to be administered, contact information and follow up procedures. We take the health of our children seriously and have a public health nurse available for minor issues.
If your child is required to take medication three times a day (antibiotics), we have been advised by a local doctor that they are able to take the first dose in the morning before they come to school, second dose when they get home from school and the last dose before they go to bed.
That way there is no need for them to bring medication to school.
There are four occasions when the school reports to parents -
• Learning interviews in Terms 1 and 2.
• A written report at the end of the school year.
Our school has "an open door" policy. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to keep close contact with their child's teacher.
